KNG high performance series SUPER GLUE (cyanoacrylate adhesive) is single component, instant bonding adhesive, available in a wide range of viscosities, from Gap-Filling to Instant Set-Up.

Benefits

Surface Preparation
Surfaces should be clean, dry and grease-free before applying the adhesive. Use a suitable solvent (such as acetone or isopropanol) for the degreasing of surfaces. Some metals such as aluminium, copper and its alloys will benefit from light abrasion with emery cloth (or similar), to remove the oxide layer.

Directions for Use
1) Apply the adhesive sparingly to one surface (usually 1 drop is sufficient).
2) Bring the components together quickly and correctly aligned.
3) Apply sufficient pressure to ensure the adhesive spreads into a thin film.
4) Do not disturb or realign until curing is achieved, normally in a few seconds.
5) Any surplus adhesive can be removed with a suitable solvent.

Factors of Affecting Cure Speed
1. Cure Speed vs. Bond Gap
The rate of cure will depend on the bondline gap. Thin bond lines result in high cure speeds, increasing the bond gap will decrease the rate of cure.
2. Cure Speed vs. Humidity
The rate of cure will depend on the ambient relative humidity. The following graph shows the tensile strength developed with time on Buna N rubber at different levels of humidity.
3. Cure Speed vs. Substrate
The rate of cure will depend on the substrate used.
4. Cure Speed vs. Activator
Where cure speed is unacceptably long due to large gaps, applying activator to the surface will improve cure speed. However, this can reduce ultimate strength of the bond and therefore testing is recommended to confirm effect.

Shelf Life and Storage
12 months stored in the original unopened containers between +2°C and +8°C. Storage below 2 °C or greater than 8 °C can adversely affect product properties.
